Experience

I started my teaching career in August 1995 at Venus ISD teaching 3rd grade two years 4th grade Math and Science 5 years. I transferred to Alvarado ISD where I team taught 4th grade for 3 years and ESL one year and 6-8th grade Science one year. I had the privilege of teaching technology applications and career exploring to a great group of 7th graders at Advantage Academy. I'm very excited to be here with Irving elementary and I look forward to bringing all my experience and computer knowledge to my students and the awesome people I work with.

Autobiography

I remember the first time I wanted to become a teacher.  It all started in the 8th grade. I was helping the 4th grade teacher at our school, grading papers, tutoring students, and anything that she’d like done in her classroom. It happened so fast, she ended up leaving one day for an emergency maternity leave. On such short notice the principal asked me to take over her class.  It turns out that I was asked to sub for her until they found someone permanently.  It was during this great opportunity I knew I wanted to teach kids, like my dad. They seemed to relate really well to my bubbly, positive personality. It was a great learning experience for all of us.  I was able to get to know them on as well as off campus.  I’m a big fan of traveling with my daughter and sharing my discoveries with my students. Letting them know that life experiences is a great way to learn many things. I love to read good mysteries.  I also, love going to the movies.  I enjoy diving when I get the opportunity to travel. I can tell you that diving is great in the Grand Cayman Islands. I am big into walking, it is a great way to easily exercise, and my dog loves it. He more or less takes me for walks. I’m also a baseball fan.  I enjoy going to live games. My favorite team would be the Yankees, although I like the Tampa Rays, too.  And, I've recently taken an interest in motorcycle riding and Race Car driving.
